Dragon NaturallySpeaking 12 adds compatibility for Windows 8 and support for Office 2013

Nuance updates the Dragon

Nuance Communications has updated its best-selling speech recognition software Dragon NaturallySpeaking.

Dragon 12 now features integration with the Microsoft Windows 8 operating system, and enhanced support for Microsoft Office 2013 and Microsoft Internet Explorer 10.

Current owners of Dragon 12 in all languages will automatically get a free software update via a digital download notification or by selecting ‘Check for Updates’ in the Help tab of the DragonBar.

“There is now an entire generation of people who rely on Dragon to be more productive with their PCs, and now those same people are migrating to new types of interfaces – and these migrations are making our interaction with computing devices truly multimodal: we can seamlessly type, touch or speak,” said Neil Grant, sales director, Nuance Communications, UK. “By improving compatibility with Windows 8’s tile and touch interface, plus the new Office and IE, Dragon is becoming an even more integral part of the everyday computing experience.”

Launched in July of 2012, Dragon 12 features a 20 percent improvement to out-of-the-box accuracy, faster performance and new features like Smart Format Rules.

Customers with previous versions of Dragon will receive an email announcing a special limited-time promotional upgrade rate to Dragon 12 with the updates above.
