Nokia has dropped further hints that it is preparing to launch a netbook.
The president and chief executive Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo told Indian newspaper The Economic Times that the increasing convergence of the IT and telecoms channels were something his company couldn't ignore.
"The PC and the mobile will continue to come closer and merge," he said. "A lot of opportunity can be seen in this converged area. We at Nokia is actively looking at this converged market. We are looking at the netbook market to see what kind of opportunity is there."
Speculation has been rampant that the company is planning to launch a netbook, but since it announced a partnership with Intel, those rumours have died down. However, several analysts have continued to predict that the world's largest mobile phone vendor will eventually launch its own netbook.
