With Gears of War 2 looking set to be one of the biggest software releases in the world this Christmas, PC gamers have been dealt a blow with claims that there will be no version of Epic’s sequel for the format.Speaking to IGN, Epic’s Cliff Bleszinski stated: "Gears of War is a great franchise first and foremost for Xbox 360, and therefore we're focusing on that platform for Gears of War 2. We've decided we're not going to do a PC version this time around."
The original Gears of War was a massive success when it eventually appeared on PC in November last year – exactly a year after its arrival on Xbox 360. The game contained three new multiplayer maps and some extra single player content.
However, PC gamers can at least take solace in the fact that the PC version of the first game was denied for ages before its eventual confirmation – and the 360 version proudly boasted an 'exclusive to 360' label for most of its life.
Gears of War 2 will be released on Xbox 360 on November 7th.
