Specialist-enthusiast retailer Overclockers UK has appointed a new managing director after the departure of Mark Proudfoot.Ruper Lowery will replace him as the company's managing director. Lowery, who was most recently chief executive of the TheHut.com, also is known for his success in the retail, banking and technology industries, with Sainsbury's, Lloyds TSB, Halifax PLC, Caudwell Communications, the state-owned Irish Post Office and the Alphyra Group.
Electronics trade body Retra has also appointed a new president, Peter Mann. He has pledged to communicate more with members, manufacturers as well as other trade bodies.
"We need to ensure we do all we can to secure the future success of independent electrical retailers throughout the UK," said Mann. By working closely with the new chief executive Bryan Lovewell and the team at Retra, I hope to help make the association even more widely known than it is today."
