Nostalgia for people who are really too young to be nostalgic

New Internet Explorer ad targets ‘children of the 90s’

Microsoft has launched its latest advertising drive for Internet Explorer, which runs with the tag line: ‘You grew up, so did we’.

Dubbed ‘Child of the 90s’, the ad seems to be aimed at those who primarily remember the browser as the one that everyone loves to hate – otherwise known as Generation Y.

It features various treasured memories for anyone who grew up in that decade including pogs, 56k modems, Tamagotchi, bum bags and those awful trainers with flashing lights in the heel.

If, like me, you were slightly too old to enjoy any of these things then you might find the ad a bit like being at a party you weren’t invited to.
