Rumours suggests August 7th release date

New iMac imminent?

Apple could be preparing to release a new version of its iMac on August 7th in order to take advantage of the back to school rush.

The rumour, which comes from Think Secret, suggests that Apple is keen not to let the season slip past without the launch of new hardware and is looking at August the 7th as the date that it will launch any hardware it has planned.

The new models as rumoured to come in 20-inch and 24-inch varieties with a new keyboard and a brushed metal finish similar to the company’s new range of MacBooks. They are also likely to incorporate the new chipset released by Intel for Macs in June.
