As first announced on Friday, the UK computer retail channel is, at long last, to get its own dedicated awards event.
The PC Retail awards will take place on Thursday March 13th 2008 at the Café Royal on Regent Street in London. They will be the first time the full retail channel has has a chance to recognise its own excellence.
There will be fifteen awards across three categories: Retail, Distribution and Vendors, plus a prestigious Grand Prix Award. Five finalists will be chosen per award, to be announced in January, with an industry-wide panel then voting the winners.
"This is about celebrating the industry and recognising exceptional performance from retailer or supplier alike," said PC Retail publisher and Intent Media managing director Stuart Dinsey. "The awards will be affordable and heavily promoted – giving guests and sponsors great value."
To ensure the awards fully represent the channel, PC Retail will be consulting its readers extensively, starting now. So any readers who have opinions or suggestions on what they would would most like to see from their awards event are encouraged to let me know by email.
