The Asus Lamborghini Eee PC VX6 netbook has gone on sale in the UK, wrapping an Intel Atom processor and Nvidia Ion 2 graphics inside a supercarthemed chassis.
Co-branded with Lamborghini, the VX6 is inspired by the Murcielago LP640 Roadster and, accoding to the vendor, “epitomises the magnificence and power of the automotive star”. It is available in black or white, with the Lamborghini logo on the lid.
The device contains a dual core Intel Atom D525 processor and a variety of connectivity features including USB 3.0 and bluetooth 3.0, both offering superfast data transfer.
Meanwhile, the dual-operating system Express Gate offers a speedy boot-up so the user can quickly access a range of applications including the internet, music and email.
The 12.1-inch LED backlit screen is complemented by Nvidia Ion 2 graphics, which boasts performance up to 60 per cent faster than the previous generation of Nvidia Ion. Meanwhile, onboard hardware decoding creates smooth HD video playback.
Nvidia Optimus technology optimizes graphics performance to suit the applications being used, improving energy efficiency and maximising battery life to deliver up to six hours of uninterrupted use.
Finally, the VX6 also sports stereo speakers by Bang & Olufsen and SRS Premium surround sound.
