MSI announced the 12.1-inch Wind U270 notebook based on AMD's new dual-core Fusion processor, the Zecate E-350.
Armed with a full-sized chicklet-style keyboard, the new AMD E-350 1.6GHz 'APU' incorporates a Radeon HD6310 'discrete-class' graphics display which, MSI said, means that the U270 can deliver the "best of both words" of power and portability.
The MSI Wind U270 also comes with a USB 3.0 port, HDMI output and a 720p HD webcam. The new notebook sports a subtle checkerboard design finish which MSI said gives the U270 "a character all its own."
Software wise, the U270 is bundled with an 'S-Bar toolbar' located at the top of the screen which consists of shortcuts for major OS apps, hardware functions and MSI's bundled multimedia software.
The firm also said that the U270's 'ECO Engine' power saving technology provides one touch access to five power management scenarios including video, games, movies, presentations, word processing and 'turbo battery'. MSI said the U270 is good for up to 8 hours on a single charge.
The Wind U270 can also charge devices via USB at high current, useful for fast charging of smartphones.
MSI didn't announce any pricing or availability.
