US mobile shopping site mShopping has announced that it is to expand into the UK having signed deals with the likes of DSGi and Comet, as well as many others.The service, which allows mobile phone users to buy items from various major retailers via its mobile-friendly site, has proved such a success in the US that the company has decided to bring it to the UK.
Providing customers with the chance to compare real time pricing and stock information between major retailers, as well as notifications of new products, discounts and liquidations, mShopper has high hopes for its UK with it expecting rapid adoption.
"mShopper has gained widespread acceptance in the US because it empowers shoppers with information when they need it – at the store, or wherever they are," said mShopper founder and CEO, David Gould, speaking yesterday at the Wireless Innovations 2008 event in San Francisco.
With the UK's already savvy users of mobile content, we are expecting rapid adoption."
Virgin Mobile USA's director of mobile content, David Gould, launched the service in August 2007. It specialises in helping major retailers bring their stores to the mobile platform.
