Intel’s claims that it will be able to improve graphics by introducing two new drivers for its integrated graphics processors have come under criticism from Taiwanese motherboard makers.
Intel plans to launch new drivers for the G965, GM965 and G35 chipsets to support the upcoming Vertex Shader 3.0. In addition, two new drivers, 15.6 and 14.31, are planned to support Windows Vista and XP.
Motherboard makers in Taiwan are increasingly concerned that the drivers still will not support many popular games. Rather than openly talk about their displeasure they are talking to magazines. The G35 is only "hardware ready", though compatibility is claimed with DirectX 10.
