Norfolk-based distributor Midwich is poised to enter the video conferencing market next month after signing a contract with Radvision, a technology and end-to-end visual communications solution provider.
The deal, which comes into effect on 8 July, will see the distie stocking Radvision’s range of products, which includes video network infrastructure, developer tools and HD room, desktop and mobile video conferencing systems.
According to Midwich, this deal is part of a “significant investment” in video conferencing, which will be complemented by the appointment of specialists to provide support to customers. This team will be headed by a new sales manager.
Lee Baker, business manager at Midwich, said: “The demand for video conferencing is growing and the market is now estimated to be worth £180 million, rising to over £450 million by 2015. Travel budgets are being squeezed by economic pressures and the chaos caused by the recent British Airways strikes was compounded by a cloud of dust from an Icelandic volcano that disrupted flights across Europe. Clearly, video conferencing is more compelling now than ever before and we are delighted to sign such a strong brand..”
Itai Margalit, GM EMEA at Radvision, added: “The partnership we have established with Midwich is a further important and significant stepping stone in becoming a UK leading VC solution provider. Midwich’s strong coverage and visibility of the market, side by side with its well established network of partners in the AV market, will enable the delivery of industry leading technologies to the market.”
Demonstration facilities will be available in London and at Radvision’s HQ in Stockley Park, Uxbridge, as well as Midwich’s office in Diss, Norfolk.
