Microsoft UK pricing could rise

Softcat has hinted that prices on Microsoft products could rise in the coming months.

According to a statement on its website, the solutions provider cites an announcement from Microsoft that the vendor plans to align its European pricing with the Euro, beginning on July 1st this year.

“Based on current exchange rates between the British Pound and Euro, and assuming rates do not change dramatically, we anticipate price increases on all volume licensing SKUS, except for Academic VL Programmes from 1st July 2012,” read Softcat’s statement.

“Exact price rises will be available from 1st June onwards however we will have some visibility in May as to what these are likely to be.”
