Microsoft has updated its eleven year old online email client Hotmail, in a move it claims is its most significant since its launch.
The new version went live in 36 different languages in a worldwide launch, reported vnu.net. Microsoft has attempted to make the service perform more like a conventional email client rather than revamping the interface to move it further towards the likes of Gmail.
Hotmail will now include several Outlook features, including right-click and drag-and-drop features. Users will be able to choose between the conventional Hotmail interface or the new Outlook style.
Users will now also be able to manage a Hotmail account through Outlook, and there is talk of hopes to launch a free application later this month which synchronises and manages Hotmail accounts through Outlook.
