Microsoft forms partnership with Motorola

Motorola has signed a deal with Microsoft to bring Bing search and maps to phones entering the Chinese market.

The move comes after Google threatened to pull out of the Chinese market following allegations that a number of attempts to hack into personal email accounts originated from the country, Reuters reports.

Motorola has also allowed its Chinese customers to use  Chinese search engine Baidu as their default engine, in a move that is thought to reduce the handset vendors reliance on Google for search.

Reuters has also reported that Google CEO Eric Schmidt expects an outcome from its ongoing dispute with the Chinese Government “soon”.
