But only for sub-notebook devices as it seeks to head off Linux invasion

Microsoft expected to extend XP deadline

Microsoft is expected to use the Intel Developer Forum, due to be held in June, to announce that it will be extending the licensing of Window XP beyond June 30th for sub-notebook devices.

Reports emerged after Asus announced that it would be shipping its Window XP version of its Eee PC close to the original deadline for licenses.

They have also been fanned by Intel announcing that it would be using the conference to unveil a wide range of sub-notebook devices using its new Atom processor.
