Microsoft is set to cut a further five per cent of its UK workforce, in addition to the job losses previously announced in January.
The initial announcement was part of its worldwide restructuring, which would involve around 5,000 job cuts around the world. The latest round of cuts affects 150 positions, bringing the total to 210 jobs in the UK.

"As part of the plan we announced in January to reduce costs and increase efficiencies, today Microsoft is commencing consultation to remove additional positions across several areas of the company," a Microsoft spokesman told MacWorld.
"A number of UK positions are affected, representing about 5 percent of the 2,880 people currently based in the UK."
