Microsoft announces Mac Office pricing

The 2008 edition of Microsoft Office for Macs will cost $399. A Media Edition will also be launched alongside the normal office, which contains PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Entourage.

The Home and Student version includes the four main programs, however it will not have the ability to connect to the Exchange or Automator functions available with the full priced editions. The Home Version, which can be installed on up to three Macs and will sell for $149.

Last month, Microsoft announced that it would delay the office 2008 launch until January. The new instalment is the first Office ever to support Intel based Macs. Additionally, for those who purchase the 2004 edition in between now and March 15th an upgrade to the 2008 edition will be offered at only the cost of shipping and handling.
