Retail and B2B distie Micro-P has appointed ex-Sanyo channel manager Ian Aitken as the firm's new specialist AV manager.
Aitken's appointment is aimed at bolstering the Micro-P AV vendor portfolio with a number of high profile AV brands as well as embarking on a recruitment drive to build a team of product specialists to deliver AV sales and marketing support to resellers and vendors.
Industry veteran Aitken previously served as the distribution channel manager at Sanyo where he was tasked with overseeing and managing the complete portfolio of its commercial and consumer products within the UK.
"We are delighted to have appointed such a predominant industry figure to head up and further expand our established AV unit," said Micro-P commercial director Phil Brown.
"Ian has already made a number of significant changes within the team and will without doubt be instrumental in driving the business division forward."
"My immediate goal is to ensure we are recognised as an audio visual distributor of substance," Aitken said. "I plan to improve our AV offering to customers by building on an already experienced AV solutions division, streamlining the commercial structure and increasing the overall skill level of our general sales staff."
Aitken said that he was excited by positive reactions from AV vendors and reseller feedback and that new partnerships were developing every day.
