Mac online share grows

Mac online share grows

Web searches originating from Apple Macs have increased by five per cent, from 4.87 to 5.12 per cent, since the release of Snow Leopard.

According to Brainstorm Tech, the increase has been largely at the expense of Microsoft, which saw its online search share fall from 93.06 per cent to 92.77 per cent in the month since the release.

The findings are based on Net Applications’ study of 160 million websites, which also saw a 0.02 per cent increase in iPhone based web searches.

The research takes visitors browser data on a website and uses it to measure operating system trends.
