LG has posted record second quarter sales and profits after it was boosted by strong television and phone handset sales.Sales were up at the South Korean-based vendor by 22.1 per cent to ₩12.7 trillion (£6.22 billion) with the firm making around ₩856 billion (£420 million) in profit.
Much of the firm's growth was driven by sales of flat screen televisions, with overall up by 37.2 per cent. LCD sales were up by 86 per cent, while plasma sales increased by a more modest 31 per cent.
