Print and imaging specialist Lexmark has appointed Computer 2000 as its distributor in Britain and Ireland.This partnership is strategically important for both companies. With over 10,000 resellers and over 30,000 product line items, Computer 2000 is billed as the largest trade-only distributor in the UK and has been looking to grow sales in the home and small business printing and imaging markets.
Simon Fagan, general manager of the print and supplies unit at Computer 2000 stressed the point: “These are strong areas of focus for Computer 2000 and we see opportunities for significant growth here over the next few months. This agreement with Lexmark gives added momentum to those efforts.”
Lexmark meanwhile has been making significant inroads in to the high-end printer markets for small businesses and homes in the US, emphasising versatility and affordability in its products.
“This is a strategically important agreement for Lexmark in the UK,” said Marcus Harvey, UK director of channel sales. “Computer 2000’s specific focus on the printer market, aligned with its considerable logistical capabilities and ability to reach the entire channel, will enable Lexmark to maximise its growth potential in the UK and deliver more choice, availability and opportunity for resellers to generate maximum revenue.”
