Chinese PC giant Lenovo announced a 55-inch smart TV based on Android Ice Cream Sandwich called the K91.
Packing a 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM and a built-in 5-megapixel camera, the smart TV is also decked out with 802.11n wi-fi, ethernet, USB and HDMI as you'd expect.
The TV part is a handsome IPS-based screen with 3D capability and a 240Hz refresh rate.
Lenovo also announced a cloud service which will offer an app store, presumably apps that have been designed to work with whatever controller the TV will use.
It's particularly curious that Lenovo is releasing a smart TV based on Google's Android but seemingly walking away from the Google TV service.
The device is set to be released in China first, which is perhaps the biggest clue on offer regarding the decision to make an Android-powered smart TV. Lenovo likely fancy building their own tailored video-on-demand service for the local market.
