Global shipments of LCD panels rose by nearly 38 per cent during 2007, boosted by sales of laptops and LCD TVs, according to a report by Taiwan-based Witsview Technology.It found that shipments of LCD panels used in all products hit 371 million units during 2007, however, it warned that recent economic worries have made it unclear how well they may perform during 2008.
It also said that shipments fell across all major segments during the crucial month of December, when many consumers in North America and Europe would normally by spending heavily owing to the holidays.
