MSI, Gigabyte and Asustek all saw their revenues hit last month as continued consumer demand for laptops saw demand for desktop motherboards fall, pushing down shipment volumes.Of the top-tier motherboard manufacturers, only ECS saw its volume shipments grow during the month. Asustek saw consolidated revenues of NT$75.29 billion (£), a drop of nine per cent from the same period last year. Despite that, revenues for the first 11 months of the year were up 44.5 per cent, to NT$666.1 billion (£).
However, the company is unlikely to meet its targets for graphic card shipments with it having only shipped 54.55 million units in the first 11 months of the year; over eight million.
MSI saw a drop in non-consolidated revenues at NT$8.65 billion, a drop of 14.7 per cent year-on-year. Its accumulated revenues for the first 11 months reached NT$83.71 billion, an increase of 22.77 per cent year on year. However, it saw a drop of 12 per cent and 24 per cent in its shipments of motherboards and graphic cards respectively.
Gigabyte saw a drop of 2.84 per cent in its revenues from the previous month, with its shipment figures also dropping 2.8 per cent. The company, however, saw an increase of 32 per cent for its accumulated income, which reached NT$84.87 billon.
