Well-known tech channel exec is leaving the distributor to take some time out

Jon Atherton departs Entatech

It is the end of an era – Entatech UK commercial director Jon Atherton has left the distributor after 22 years working at the firm.

The well-known tech channel executive originally joined the firm back in July 1992 and to say he’s been instrumental in growing its business would be a bit of an understatement.

Atherton told PCR that today (Friday March 6th) is his last day at Entatech.

"After over 22 years I have decided to leave the business and take some time out (although I may have left it too late to be a professional golfer!)," Atherton said.

"I do feel humble and honoured to have worked for so long in this fantastic company who have great staff and a desire to punch above their weight within the channel, and I’m sure they will continue to go from strength to strength."

Entatech commented on Jon Atherton leaving the firm after 22 years.

"Entatech UK Ltd are sorry to announce they will be parting company with commercial director Jon Atherton on Friday March 6th. Jon has resigned his position with the company after 22 years, and will be taking time to pursue other interests," the firm said in a statement.

"After a such a long and successful relationship, Jon will be missed by the Entatech team, and we wish him well for the future."

It’s not clear where he will be heading next, but PCR will cover any updates as they happen.

Entatech has announced that former VIP director Dave Stevinson will replace Atherton as commercial director, starting Monday March 9th.

Last year Atherton picked up the Special Recognition award at the 2014 PCR Awards.

If you have any fond memories of Jon or a goodbye message you’d like to share, please email them to PCR and we’ll include them in a roundup piece.
