John Lewis has reported year-on-year sales growth of 18 per cent for the week leading up to March 13th.
According to ERT Online, the retailer saw particularly strong sales in its online division, which grew by an astonishing 42 per cent, and electrical and home technology sales, which grew by 8.1 per cent.
Imaging products such as camcorders and SLR cameras were the divisions top performers.
“Even without Mother's Day, our underlying trade was powerful and we expect another advance this week,” said John Lewis’ director of operation development Andrew Murphy.
