John Lewis has recorded its best week for technology sales on the back of strong demand for digital frames, digital cameras, sat-navs, DVD players and ebooks.Electricals were up two per cent on the retailer's previous best week in 2006.
However, the retailer is anticipating that demand will continue to be strong and that it may even see another record-breaking performance in the next ten days.
"With just one more weekend to go now before Christmas, we have seen some very strong trading, particularly in electricals and home technology products, and we expect this trend to continue over the next 10 days," said John Lewis' director of selling operations Dan Knowles.
"We are confident that John Lewis has maintained its position as a market leader over the festive period, with an innovative and inspiring product assortment and our price promise which customers know they can trust."
