Chinese sites post photographs of Apple’s rumoured budget iPhone 5C

iPhone 5C retail packaging and ‘Quick Start’ guides photographed

The iPhone 5C’s packaging and ‘Quick Start’ guide inserts appear to have been leaked over the weekend in a series of photographs.

The first image, showing what seem to be pink iPhone 5C handsets in plastic boxes, was posted on Chinese site iapps.im.

The boxes, with clear plastic fronts, display the phones in a similar manner to Apple’s existing iPod products. Also posted on the site were images appearing to be that of a blue iPhone 5C sat in a clear plastic grip insert and a selection of blue, yellow and white units in packaging branded with ‘iPhone 5C’ and the Apple logo.

Following the posts on iapps.im, another Chinese site, Weibo, hosted photos of cardboard ‘Quick Start’ inserts cut in the same shape as the leaked packaging.

Also shown was an example of the insert that holds the iPhone’s SIM eject tool, looking identical in design and operation to those included with previous generations of the iPhone.

Weibo had previously been used by Taiwanese celebrity Jimmy Lin to post another image claimed to be the iPhone 5C.

The guide insert, which has an image of an example iPhone running iOS7, interestingly shows the iPhone 5C as having a black front. While previous leaks have only shown the multi-coloured back of the device, it appears that regardless of rear colour, the faceplate will be black.

The iPhone 5C is expected to be revealed alongside the also-rumoured iPhone 5S at an Apple event on September 10th.
