Interactive Ideas is hoping that its latest product line will help those in the creative industry who are out of work, by improving their skills across a variety of modern software packages. The distributor has signed a deal with Mediaroots for its range of software training DVDs, with Interactive highlighting the agreement as the ideal opportunity for retailers to stock products that can help their customers get back to work, or just improve their skills.
The range includes tutorials, starting at the very basics and working up to advanced techniques, for software including Adobe CS3 and CS4 in one package, as well as Autodesk 3DS Max, QuarkXPress, Final Cut Pro and Poser.
"With the increasing uncertainty in employment, people need to ensure that they are able to diversify and offer a comprehensive skill-set to prospective employers," commented marketing director at Interactive Ideas, Michael Breeze.
It was a sentiment echoed by Mediaroot's managing director Jack Smith. "The DVDs are uniquely formulated to teach skills desired in the workplace. Thus, the training is great for people who may be finding it difficult to get a job given the current economic climate."
