Enfield-based distributor looks to expand its presence around the world with ambitious international plans

Interactive Ideas eyes global conquest

UK distributor Interactive Ideas is looking to increase its influence across the globe with expansions into Asia and Europe, after doubling its workforce capacity with a move into new offices and the creation of a new training facility.

The ambitious plans come off the back of a barnstorming two years for the firm, in which it doubled in size and achieved record revenues of £16.2 million in the last financial year.

After announcing that it had “exciting plans for international expansion”, the firm told PCR that the first move in the strategy concerns digital software distribution.

“The world is becoming increasingly flat with today’s communications and logistics. Many traditional routes to market are now being challenged and better quality, more cost-effective channels are emerging,” said marketing director Michael Breeze.

“Many of our customers and suppliers are emerging brands and are looking to use our experience across EMEA and APAC. Initially this is focused on software products that can be distributed digitally.”

The office expansion more than doubles the firm’s existing warehouse space, and can also facilitate a doubling of the sales and marketing workforce to drive its growth plans.

Breeze claims the recent success has all be down to building solid relationships with the trade. “In the last few years we have really focused on developing and working with the suppliers and customers where we have strong relationships.

"We have spent the time to put the resources in place to really assist them in growing their own businesses and, with the recent economic climate, our strong partnerships, 15-year history and strong balance sheet have proven a good formula,” he said.
