Intel is preparing to launch its upcoming X38 Express chipset into retail early next month, with retailers currently being prepared for its arrival.
The chipset, which is based upon Bearlake, brings a host of innovative new features including the brand new interface PCI-I Express 2.0 bringing the potential for a rush on PCI Express 2.0 graphics cards.
The news comes as system integrators have expressed concerns over the ability of AMD to deliver its Barcelona chipset on time. The vendor had previous stated that integrators would start receiving 2GHz and 2.3GHz Barcelonas in August, however according to them they have been told the only ones available widely at launch will be the 1.9GHz variety.
It is currently unclear what is causing the supply issue.
