Industry-leading chipmaker Intel has lavished near-unanimous praise on Windows 7.
In an internal study, Intel researchers conducted various usability tests on Microsoft’s new operating system. The results show that 291 Intel users out of 300 found that Windows 7 had superior performance and stability to Windows XP.
Intel’s research concluded that Windows 7, compared with XP, was more responsive in key tasks such as booting up. There was also a noticeable reduction in BSODs, said the group, while the OS was also deemed ready to work with numerous applications.
The chipmaker said it wouldn’t be upgrading to Windows 7 until 2010, and will continue to test the product for compatibility and performance throughout the year.
