Ingram Micro has celebrated the high level of attendees and good business opportunities presented by this year's Channel Expo, but claims organisers need to promote better awareness for the show.Bhavesh Patel, UK commercial director of the world's biggest distributor told PC Retail that while the show is better than last year, it still needs to evolve.
"The show organisers really need to create better brand awareness for the show. It needs to evolve, but this takes time. This year's is better than last year's, and they just need to work out how to keep improving it.
"The timing is better than last year, when it clashed with the busiest period, and the footall is much better."
Patel also praised new features to the Channel Expo format such as the How to Sell Theatre.
With an armada of over 30 vendors on its stand, Ingram Micro presented one of the more impressive exhibits at Channel Expo. Meanwhile, the distributor said it has a number of further channel events of its own in the pipeline.
Vendors on its stand included Targus, Hitachi, Devolo, Brother, Plextor, Kaspersky, Pinnacle, Kensington, Trend Micro, LG, IBM, Liteon, Avocent, HP, Microsoft, Cisco, Antec, Canon, Western Digital, Linksys, Acer, Belkin, Seagate.
