Ingram Micro has completed its acquisition of Computacenter Distribution as part of its value business drive.
The deal brings another 40 employees to Ingram Micro, who will work from the firm’s Maidenhead office as part of the UK enterprise server and storage division, which incorporates the value, networking and data capture/point of sale teams.
Ingram Micro’s EMEA president Alain Maquet said: “This acquisition is a strong complement to our existing UK business, and it further advances our EMEA strategy to expand into the value business. It positions us as a significant value-added distributor, with the expertise to serve a broad range of customers and vendors in multiple segments.”
The firms have been working together to ensure that current orders, stock, scheduling and configuration requirements are all under control. According to the firms, CCD’s current business relationships will continue to be maintained.
Johan Vandenbussche, Ingram Micro’s regional vice president for the UK and Benelux, said: “This acquisition puts us in a strong growth position… We have received enthusiastic feedback from our customer and vendor partners as this acquisition strengthens our full product portfolio for both Ingram Micro’s existing customers as well as CCD’s clients.”
