Ingram Micro EMEA has acquired Spanish value-added distributor Albora Soluciones in a move designed to strengthen Ingram’s position in the virtualisation, security and middleware solutions markets.
Ingram Micro EMEA president Alain Maquet said: "Albora is a leader in the Spanish market with a proven track record of profitable results, as well as strong customer and vendor relationships. We are very pleased to be welcoming their 35 skilled professionals to the Ingram Micro team. They are well qualified with extensive experience and possess the ability to deliver comprehensive customer solutions."
Albora was established in 2001 and is headquartered in Barcelona with offices in Madrid and Lisbon, Portugal. According to Ingram Micro, the two firms have enjoyed a close relationship for a number of years, with Albora providing support to Ingram’s vendors.
Marti Figols, Albora's director general, added: "This transaction will allow our team at Albora to further improve our service to customers and our overall partnerships with vendors. We are very pleased to be joining a world leader like Ingram Micro and look forward to continued growth and success."
Albora will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Ingram Micro EMEA. The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
The deal represents Ingram Micro’s latest step towards pursuing more value business, having recently acquired CCD, a leading mid-tier enterprise product distributor.
