Independent retailers have come out well in a survey conducted by the Consumer Association's publication Which? into electrical retailers. The study, which looked at convenience, customer service, experience, pricing and product, found that customers will often pay more to get a high quality service.
Many of the customers surveyed said that it was the independents' "excellent knowledge of products and good customer service," that saw them beat national chains that may offer lower prices.
Only John Lewis managed to beat the independents, coming in at second place.
Other major electrical retailers did poorly with DSGi's Currys, PC World and Currys.Digital coming in at 70th, 72nd and 74th respectively. Kesa owned Comet came in at 66th out of 77.
Supermarkets Tesco and Asda came in at 37th and 38th place respectively.
