A decline in business and public sector spending has seen the UK server market decline by 26 per cent, with 74,000 shipments made, compared to 108,000 a year ago.
According to Microscope, the x86 segment that constitutes over 90 per cent of total shipments, declined by 31 per cent an the UNIX segment fell by nearly 50 per cent.
“The UK saw one of the steepest declines in shipments across Europe,” said IDC’s programme director for European storage research, Nathaniel Martinez.
