IBM to offer Linux machines

IBM to offer Linux machines IBM has announced that it will be offering PCs that come without Windows in Eastern European markets and Russia.

The machines, it was announced, will come with Red Hat's Linux distro, and will come pre-loaded with software from IBM, including its Lotus Symphony suite.

IBM declined to offer any sales forecasts, however, demand from Russia's Ministery of Defence and airline Aeroflot indicate that it has the potential to do well.

Not indication has been given by IBM, nor its partners, as to whether or not it has any plans to bring the products to Western Europe and America.
