HTC smartwatch to be unveiled at MWC 2014

Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC plans to unveil its first wearable device at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Bloomberg reports that a person with ‘direct knowledge of the plans’ told the publication the smartwatch will be the first of three wearable devices from HTC.

According to the source, the smartwatch will be a prototype based on Qualcomm’s Toq device.

HTC is also reportedly developing a watch using Google’s Now service as well as an electronic bracelet that plays music.

MWC 2014 kicks off on Monday 24th February.
