HTC One X and S on preorder at Vodafone

Mobile operator Vodafone is now offering pre-orders for the high-end HTC Android smartphones, the One X and the One S.

With HTC promising few smartphones, the anticipated One-series is the smartphone giant’s first handsets as part of a new strategy to offer few ‘hero’ devices. Both of the new handsets offer Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and HTC’s Touch beautified front-end.

The massive 4.7-inch One X is also one of the first quad-core smartphones armed with a quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 with a 720 x 1280 resolution screen while the smaller 4.3-inch 540 x 960 resolution One S is based on a dual-core processor.

Both phones are armed with up-rated 8-megapixel cameras with 1080p video recording capability and video stabilisation via a dedicated on-board camera control chip. The One X also comes in a choice of grey or white finish while the One S is only available in grey.

Vodafone’s pre-order offers the HTC One X with no up front cost on a £41 monthly 1GB data plan on a two-year contract, down to £299 up front on a £26 250MB plan. The cheaper One S can be had with no up front cost on a £36 monthly 1GB plan, down to £199 on the cheapest £26 monthly plan.
