HP has revealed Sprout, a new desktop available in HP’s Blended Reality ecosystem.
The company showcased Sprout at an event in New York, which combines a scanner, depth sensor, hi-resolution camera and projector into a single device.
Sprout allows users to take physical items and merge them into a digital workspace.
A mat is also included, which acts as a keyboard, mouse and touchpad, where users can manipulate images with their hands or a stylus.
The PC features a next-generation computing platform with a 4th generation Intel i7 Processor, 1TB of storage and a Windows 8.1 multi-touch experience.
Dion Weisler, executive vice president of printing and personal systems at HP, said: “We are on the cusp of a transformative era in computing and printing.
“This ecosystem opens up new market categories that can define the future, empowering people to create, interact and inspire like never before."
The firm also unveiled its new 3D printing technology, which is ’10 times faster than technology that’s already out there’.
Multi Jet Fusion is built on HP’s Thermal Inkjet technology and features architecture that aims to improve 3D printing.
Stephen Nigro, senior vice president of inkjet and graphic solutions at HP, added: ”HP Multi Jet Fusion is designed to transform manufacturing across industries by delivering on the full potential of 3D printing with better quality, increased productivity, and break-through economics."
This news comes after HP announced plans that it has split into two separate companies.
