HP unveils SMB networking and storage

HP has launched a number of new networking and online storage devices for small and medium businesses.

According to Computer World, the vendor announced the products at an event in Cupertino last week and which aims to tap in to a market segment that spends around $234 billion per year on IT – a figure that is expected to grow 3.6 per cent per annum over the next two years.

The V family of LAN swiches has been updated with the introduction of the HP V1410, a more energy efficient version of the V1400 and HP’s storage platform portfolio has been increased with the addition of the StorageWorks X1000 Network Storage System and the P2000 G3 Modular Array.

The company is also reported to be implementing cloud support via the 48Upper online platform, which is expected to be announced later this year.
