HP is to recall a further 15,000 laptop batteries over fears that they may be affected by the same fault that has caused several to burst into flames spontaneously.
The recall was brought to light by a Chinese government website. It said that around 15,000 batteries would have to be returned to the vendor.
The laptops affected include HP Pavilion, Compaq Presario and HP Compaq models bought between late 2007 and early 2008. The Chinese government is urging all HP owners to check their batteries if their laptop was purchased between these dates.
