HP has displayed two new Intel-powered energy-conserving PCs, at a special event in San Francisco.The two PCs in question are the DC5800 and the DC7800, with the later boasting an optional 16GB SanDisk solid-state hard drive. The extra will add $300 to the desktop's price, but offers faster boot and load times and improved power efficiency.
Speaking at the event, senior product manager at HP, Kirk Godkin said he expects solid-state drives to become mainstream by 2010.
These new PCs will also feature Surveyor, a tool that allows network administrators to gauge power consumption.
