HP steps up green policy

Andrew Wooden
HP steps up green policy HP has vowed to double the amount of inkjet cartridges it produces from recycled plastic water bottles this year, after shipping 200 million such units so far.

The firm claims it used more than 2.26 million kilograms of recycled plastic in its inkjet cartridges last year.

“By developing the technology to use recycled plastics in Original HP inkjet print cartridges, we have the opportunity to reduce the environmental impact HP products have on the planet,” said Michael Hoffmann, senior vice president for supplies, imaging and printing group at HP. “HP’s considerable investments in building a recycling infrastructure made this achievement possible, and this is just the beginning of what we hope to accomplish.”
