HP has unveiled a program to sell TouchPad tablets to WebOS developers for $150 or £130.
The IT giant was previously rumoured to be considering a shut-down of the WebOS business unit, following the high profile cancellation of the firm's WebOS hardware business.
However the company denied the rumours with HP PSG group boss Todd Bradley telling Bloomberg TV that the claims amounted to an "unfounded rumour" and reaffirming support for the WebOS software.
The decision to retain some TouchPad stock and offer the tablets at a similar 'fire sale' price to would-be WebOS developers appears to back up public claims of ongoing support for the WebOS initiative.
However it still isn't clear where HP will deploy WebOS given the failure of HP's own hardware.
