HP today takes over full control of Autonomy, as its shareholders finally agree to the proposed deal reportedly worth $10.24 billion.
Autonomy mainly produces enterprise software, and as such is crucial to HP’s drive to become a software a services company.
The firm has had some flack for the huge amount of money it has stumped up for the bid, but Ann Livermore – board member at HP – said today: "We’ve been criticised for paying so much for Autonomy but HP knows more about Autonomy, its capabilities and how that fits in to our strategy than anyone else does.”
