The credit crunch is favouring multi-channel retailers over pure-play internet etailers according to the latest figures from Hitwise UK.The internet monitor found that in its latest IMRG-Hitwise Hot Shops List – which ranks the top 50 UK etailers in October – over 30 were High Street retailers with a multi-channel presence.
It found that customers were favouring brand names as they increasingly become concerned over value for money.
The most visited website was Amazon UK, however, Argos (2), Tesco (4), Next (7), Currys (11), John Lewis (13) and Apple (20) all make appearances in the top twenty. Play (3) and Dell (8) also make appearances as pure-play etailers.
