Google has launched a mobile version of its new Google Search results for movies, which lets people watch trailers and find screening times on their phones.
It is accessed from the main Google search engine on iPhone, Palm and Android handsets, when users search for 'movies' and click on the 'more movies' link.
"Our new movie listings page now includes buttons to play trailers right on your phone, ratings and categories, movie posters, upcoming showtimes, and a concise list of the nearest theaters and their distances from you," user experience designer Nick Fey wrote in a blog post.
When users browse by cinema, they will see them plotted on a Google Map, with the ability to tap on any individual venue to see which films are showing there.
The new site works in the US, UK, Canada, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. So far there has been no mention of when it will be available on other smartphones.
